ABOUT
ME
I have filed resumes, sold books, written grants,
worked the grill at a snack bar, and taught students from ages 6
months to 65 years. I spent 13 years in Chicago and Philadelphia
as a teacher for first and second graders and college students.
Currently, when not chasing my own two children, I am a full-time
writer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Learn more in the Bio

THE
GOOD NEWS
The New Girl...And Me is cooler than a spy decoder ring:
Specially marked Cheerios boxes with copies of The New Girl...And
Me inside are now at a store near you. They are part of Cheerios'
Spoonfuls
of Stories program to support First
Book, a wonderful organization, and they look great. Plus, they
are in English and Spanish and I especially love how "punch you
in the head" sounds in Spanish.
THE
BAD NEWS
Publication
of my next picture book, Two of a Kind, has been pushed
back to July, 2009. I have seen the illustration sketches by the
marvelous Matt Phelan and the book will definitely be worth the
wait.
